This was my first assignment for Australian telco Optus. The brief was to produce web sites for each of their ‘brick-and-mortar’ Business Centre stores, which are dedicated to serving the small business market.
Previously the individual Optus Business Centres were responsible for their own web sites, which meant and variety of URLs and domain names, and a variety of branding. The idea was simple; consistent design, consistent URL structure, consistent SEO, copy which met the mandatory legal requirements, but with the ability for stores to display and manage their own local promotions, contact details, staff bios and testimonials.
Bruce delivered a customised WordPress solution for our Optus Business Centres in record time. Fantastic to work with, he’s results oriented with a strong customer focus – his expertise in WordPress is second to none.

To do this, I utilised the power of WordPress MultiSite to provide a consistent theme across all of the 22 Business Centre sites that were initially rolled out. MultiSite provides a common ‘super admin’ login for management of themes, plugins and common content pages. But it also provides individual logins for the local Business Centre owners to manage their own local content pages.
To complete the picture, I wrote a series of plugins which provide site-specific information to be added; contact details, staff bios, customer testimonials and local promotions. Additionally plugins were written to integrate ‘MapBlaster’ coverage maps and a custom contact form integrated with SalesForce to ensure customer inquires are routed to the appropriate business centre.
