This web site was a long time in the planning. Optus’ online team had a wealth of long-form content that was struggling to gain attention within it’s corporate web site.
The managers of Optus’ UX (User Experience) and Copy Writing teams had already identified WordPress as the preferred platform for this web site. It provides a great web-based writing and editing experience. To this we added Yoast’s SEO plugin and carefully keyworded and tagged articles. The Optus Yes magazine was born.
The site incorporates Optus’ CCR design language, but stands apart by featuring a grid-layout and continuous scrolling home page and large full-width photographs on the article pages.
In addition to the custom theme, I also wrote a custom plugin that allows site editors to create sidebar promotions that may be site-wide, category or tag specific, or linked to an individual article.
